Please help spread the word to friends/neighbors who may be attending MES next year! *This is for ANY new parent – not just Kindergarten/PreK.
For those who will be new to Montgomery Elementary for the 2017/2018 school year, please mark your calendars for our New Parent Orientation, Thursday, May 18th at 6:30 pm in the Montgomery Cafeteria. This informative session will be led by Christy Connor (current PTA President), Rouchelle Longley (PTA President-Elect), & Monica Zanger (New Parent PTA Chair) to discuss the day to day life of a student, school and PTA registration, events prior to school starting and a Q&A. We look forward to meeting all the new families that will be joining us next year. Should you have any questions, feel free to contact Christy Connor at firstname.lastname@example.org.
With all the end of the year activities at school coming up, please remember to only park on one side of the street when parking in the neighborhood around the school. Also, try not to park too close to the corners (especially next to Ashford Dunwoody). It cuts down on visibility and makes it dangerous for walkers. Please slow down, and let’s all work together to keep our kids safe!
It’s time for May nominations! Please take a minute to nominate a teacher or staff member who you feel deserves to be recognized for helping make our school so great. Follow this link to make your nomination for May:https://goo.gl/forms/dj5223lqCrjVd4ZC2. The selected teacher/staff member’s picture and description will be posted on the appreciation sign inside the front entrance of the school next week. Please contact Christy Connor with any questions at email@example.com.
SchoolKidz is back! If you would like to avoid the hustle and bustle of school supply shopping, please order by May 26th. To place your order, go to http://www.shopttkits.com and enter account number is 66121. Kits will be delivered at the Back-to-School Fair in August. Please contact Kim Hensarling if you have any questions – firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please sign-up for the Kindergarten Assessment for any student who will be entering Kindergarten in the fall of 2017. Please sign up for the time that is most convenient for you, and type your child’s name in the comments. Each assessment takes approximately 15-20 minutes. There is no preparation necessary.
We are collecting box tops this week! May 1st – May 5th. The class in each grade with the most box tops will get a Popsicle party!
The last day to turn in Box Tops this school year is May 5th. Help your class win a Popsicle party. Please tape or glue your box tops to the back of the sheet that was provided in last week’s courier, OR place your box tops in a Ziploc bag and write the number of box tops and your teacher’s name on your bag. Please trim the box tops and make sure they are not expired. Remember: Each box top is worth $.10 for our school! Have your grandparents, neighbors, and friends collect them for you. Keep collecting your box tops all summer. Questions: Please contact Jodie Warlick (email@example.com) or Amy Sery (firstname.lastname@example.org).
This is the final week that you can purchase yearbooks. Children love to look back on the memories of their school year, and as they get older look back on their old yearbooks and laugh about how young everyone looked! Don’t miss out on this opportunity! Yearbooks are only $30, and they are available for purchase until February 24, 2017 – which is THIS FRIDAY!
Reminder, yearbooks were not available for purchase during the 2016 registration process like it was in 2015. This has caused some confusion so we want to make sure you don’t assume you purchased one. To purchase your 2017 yearbook, visit www.jostensyearbooks.com and search for Montgomery Elementary School – Atlanta, GA.
For questions, please direct all yearbook questions to the yearbook committee at email@example.com.
