The lunch buddies program consists of parent volunteers helping out in the cafeteria. This program enables the teachers to have a well-deserved break during the lunch period. This is a great way to spend some time with your child during school hours. Lunch buddies help children open containers and packages as needed and wipe down tables. Volunteers are needed for 1 or 2 hour slots from 10:20 AM-11:20 AM and from 11:20 AM-12:20 PM. Two volunteers per time slot is the goal.
See the schedule below for your responsible week(s). You should be receiving (or may have already received) a link to a Sign Up Genius for your allotted week(s) from Brett Matthews (room parent coordinator). Please distribute a link to the Sign Up Genius page provided to all of your class parents. If you are unable to fill your scheduled week or have any questions, please contact Lisa Byrd (lfbyrd@mac.com) or Erin Stieglitz (erin.stieglitz@gmail.com)

The National PTA Reflections themed art competition kicks off its eighth year at Montgomery with the introduction of this year’s contest theme, Within Reach.
The PTA Reflections program is an annual arts contest available to all students across the country. The contest encourages students to explore their artistic talents and pursue creative expression in the categories of dance choreography, film production, literature, musical composition, photography, and visual arts. Each year the program challenges students to create art inspired by a specific theme, which is chosen from hundreds of entries from their annual Theme Search competition.
All students at Montgomery are encouraged to participate in the art contest. Works will be divided into two divisions, a primary division for pre-k through second graders, and an intermediate division for third through fifth graders. Qualifying work will be scored in a blind judging event by a panel of local artists. A Reflections Celebration will be to display entries, announce winners, and acknowledge and award all participants.
For more detailed contest information, program rules and to download an entry form go to the MES Reflections Website: https://montgomeryelementaryreflections.shutterfly.com/
Entry deadline dates will be announced later this month. Don’t miss this great opportunity for your child to develop and explore his or her creativity!
