WHAT: Montgomery students to compete in the 2017 National Geographic Bee
WHO: All 4th and 5th grade students
Preliminary Tests: Week of December 5th (during library time)
Final Montgomery Bee: January 5th
HOW: Students will take a preliminary test during their library time. Two students from each 4th and 5th grade homeroom will advance to the Montgomery Bee based off of their scores on the preliminary exam. The champion of the Montgomery Nat Geo Bee will advance to the next level of competition, a qualifying test to determine state competitors. All school champions are eligible to win the national championship and its first prize, a $50,000 college scholarship, at the national championship May 15-17, 2017 in Washington, D.C.
Details: For the 29th year, the National Geographic Society is holding the National Geographic Bee for students in the fourth through eighth grades in thousands of schools across the United States and in the five U.S. territories, as well as in
Department of Defense Dependents Schools around the world.
