Greetings Mustang families,
It is hard to believe that we are entering our 7 th week of school. The school year is flying by! Progress reports were sent home with students last week and teachers are in the process of setting up conferences.
Recently, a new ramp was constructed on the side of the building. This was done in order to provide an accessible path from the new portables to the lower playground that was ADA compliant. The district was given a deadline by the City of Brookhaven so very little notice was given to the school. Thank you for your patience since we
had to reroute our walkers.
As I shared during Curriculum Night, we are continuing on our journey towards AdvancED STEM certification. After consulting with our district professional learning facilitator, the decision was made to pursue STEM certification as opposed to STEAM certification since many of the programs and much of the curriculum we
were using focused on those standards. Art is still very important to our school community and we will continue to see our students display their creativity through their wonderful art pieces. Mrs. Peatross, Mr. Levitt and Mr. Squall collaborated and were able to provide an outdoor sink to provide water access for the art students so
stay tuned for the amazing works to come!
Below are just a few reminders:
7:00 – 7:15 a.m. Buses are dropping off students (cars should not be in the carpool line). This actually slows down carpool.
7:15 a.m. Carpool begins. Cars should stay in line and not pass other cars that are still unloading students. This is a safety hazard.
7:45 a.m. Students arriving after 7:45 a.m. must be escorted to the office by a parent. Please do not send students into the building unaccompanied.
Thank you for your continued support of Montgomery Elementary.
With Mustang Pride,
Lori M. Bolds
